The 1st Annual Donnieville's Heart My Community Health & Wellness Day 
was a GREAT success!

The 1st Annual Donnieville’s Heart My Community – Health & Wellness Day on November 9, 2024 from 10AM-4PM at Welcome Friend Baptist Church in 3198 Bouldercrest Rd, Ellenwood, Georgia was a GREAT success. Donnieville Day was blessed with over 50 volunteers from church members, family members and friends traveling from as far as Alabama. We also distributed over 350 free meals. The event was a fun-filled day with activities and resources focused on improving the physical and mental well-being of our community members.

Here's more about what awesome activities and events took place:

• Health Screenings: There were over twenty different types of free health screenings available to attendees, including blood pressure checks, glucose checks, and other basic health screenings. Donnieville Day was partnered with the DeKalb County Department of Health and Georgia Association of Nursing Students, along with hosting other local healthcare professionals from specialities like family practice care, mental health care, home health care and hospice health care. 

• Local Celebrity Chef Dr. Leena CEO of Virtious Vegan did LIVE Cooking Demonstration & Tastings: Dr. Leena, a local Celebrity Chef, hosted a LIVE cooking demonstration with scrupulous food tastings.  The community had a chance to engage with Dr. Chef Leena while she was preparing delicious heart-healthy kale. They also enjoyed her vegan beans as a culinary delight, and learned about cooking healthy food in a family-friendly entertaining environment, which created a very memorable and impactful event. 

• Wellness and Shopping Vendors: A variety of Wellness Booths featured wellness resources like, healthy chocolate options from Award-Winning Chocolatier Daisy, CEO of Chocolate in a Box, along with vendors with holistic and natural products, and fitness programs.

• Special Appearances: There were special appearances from the beautiful Princess Tiana and The Spider-Man danced with the kids. The Royal Dollz & Gentz Drill Team put on a good SHOW. And there was also a very magical visit from Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus.

• Fun Zone: There were dozens of fun games, play areas and educational activities for kids and adults promoting positive lifestyle habits.

• Live Entertainment, Group Exercise & Line Dancing: The Line Dancing Group rolled through deep and turned up the fun with music by local Celebrity DJ Babyy Drea.
